Laboratory of Metallurgy

Characteristics

The Laboratory supports classes of metallurgy, heat treatment and other curricular units where metallography and materials characterization is relevant. 
 

Equipaments

• Metallographic equipments: samples preparation units, optical microscope;
• Atomic absorption spectrometer;
• DTA/TGA (thermal and thermogravimetric analysis) equipment;
• DMA (thermomechanical analysis) equipment;
• TMA  (thermomechanical analysis) equipment;;
• DSC (differencial scanning calorimeter) equipment;
• Wettability test equipment;
• X-ray fluorescence spectrometer.

Services

Services provided are: chemical analysis of materials, wastes and effluents; thermal analysis of materials; metallographic evaluation.
