This Laboratory provides support to Curricular Units of Industrial Automation, Command Specification of Systems to Discrete Events and Mechatronic Project and Signal Processing, being a means for students to acquire the following competencies:
Develop methods to design logical systems;
Acquire skills for the design and development of automated systems;
Programming industrial logic controllers;
Develop advanced monitoring and control applications for industrial processes.
It also supports research activities where the components of Automation, Instrumentation, Control and Signal Processing are relevant.
EQUIPMENT
Conventional pneumatic and electro-pneumatic benches;
Electro-pneumatic benches controlled by Programmable Logical Controllers;
Electro-pneumatic bench of an Automated Production System (SAP);
Conventional oil-hydraulic bench;
Servo-hydraulic bench;
Process control bench;
Data acquisition and processing systems (LabVIEW).

The Laboratory has supported several ID projects carried out in partnership with companies in the design, design and development of industrial equipment in several areas of activity, namely, agro-food, medical devices and rehabilitation, industrial automation and metal mechanics.

The services it provides are in the area of conception, design and development of mechatronics equipment’s for research or for industrial applications.
